I went back to my hometown, Bandung, this week. It happened to be at the same time as Hari Raya Haji or Adul Adha. It is a Moslem tradition that after prayers, livestock such as sheep, goats and cows will be sacrificed. This sacrifice takes place to commemorate the Islamic prophet Ibrahim who sacrificed his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God. The meat from sacrificed livestock will usually be donated to the poor or needy.
So, I walked around the village, so see this tradition. It was a bit scary though. I did't stay too long until they distributed the meat to the needy.
Here, some of the photos I took of the Qurban process.
